In the wake of the exit of key personalities from Uganda’s leading Christian radio station, a couple of fans came out on social media to express their sadness, but more so, displeasure. What they and we did not know is, according to a press release that we have received, Power Fm is creating a ‘new product’ which they have promised to release to the general public.
In the process of creating this new product ‘the station that’s all about love’ has said, they are undergoing changes in their programming. As you might guess, the loyal fans of the station seemed sad about their favorite presenters and especially DJs leaving the station and were up in arms.
Here is what they had to say in the press release.
“Our dearest beloved Love Family,
The ones who have been with us for 7,300 days, 1040 weeks,
20 years of a journey on radio and still are, Some of you started out
with us from the beginning as you were teenagers in high school
and now your kids are teenagers in high school. Some of you have
just joined us on this journey for the last couple of years or months
or even days. Whoever you are, wherever you are, you have loved
us, worked with us, stuck with us, and made us who we are today.
Make no mistake, we love you dearly and everything we do is for
you and about you. IT IS ALL ABOUT LOVE
Now as you might have already noticed, we are undergoing changes
in our programming and for the station as a whole, this has meant
that we have had to part with some of our team members i.e. Deejays, presenters and some behind the scenes staff.
It has not been an easy process for anyone involved and we ask that
you keep us in your prayers through it all. We are still committed to
reaching the un-churched youth with the love of Jesus and are still all
about love
We believe and pray that you will have the courage to walk this
journey with us still. As soon as the final new product is ready – as
usual, you will be the first ones to know.
