With great excitement, we are glad to bring you tidings of a celebration organized by Deliverance Church Uganda to mark their 50th anniversary as a church and ministry.
Yes. It may come to some of you as a shock but the ministry which is given to discipling the nations, will on December 8th, 9th and 10th hold Golden Jubilee Celebrations at their main Headquarters in Deliverance Church Nsambya below sharing hall.
Did you know that, “Deliverance Church Uganda was the first indigenous Pentecostal church founded in 1967 by a group of Nabumali High School students. Initially, membership was drawn from Schools and Tertiary Institutions but it has since grown and assumed a national dimension by establishing over 467 congregations across Uganda. During president Idi Amin’s era, leaders and believers of Deliverance Church Uganda were among those that were imprisoned when the church in Uganda was banned in 1977.”
As of 2017, there OVER 450 churches planted in Uganda and leadership is provided by a TEAM of 15 senior citizens who oversee its national operations in the 5 regions of the country (Western, Central, North, Busoga, and Eastern regions).
It goes without saying that in addition to preaching the truth of God’s word, Deliverance Church Ministries is impacting community through 17 schools built by the church, Health programs delivered through four clinics, partnership with Compassion International to provide education to the underprivileged and The AIDS Intervention Program based in Jinja, in conjunction with over 250 Pentecostal churches to reach and care for over 1.5m affected and infected persons.
During the three-day celebration, the main events at Deliverance Church Nsambya are free and open to the general public. It is important to note that on the 9th which will be a Saturday, in addition to the main event, there will be an exhibition – for this, adults will pay a small fee of 10,000 shillings whereas children enter for free.
Surely, it is a family-friendly event with music, fun-activities for the entire family, vision casting, mouth-watering food and so much more.
Whether you attend a Deliverance Church service on Sunday or not, we are the body of Christ and have to turn up in large numbers to celebrate this.
