Hidden Empire vocalist Sonny Soweez has released a brand new song based on 1 Samuel 16:7 which says, “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees;for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” This song which features Levixone a typical RnB song with great melody, memorable lyrics and a really simple chorus – well, the chorus will be simple because we made sure we asked for the song lyrics.
First Impressions is part of Pieces EP like Tribulationz which was released in 2016. While listening to the tone of this song and comparing it with Tribulationz, there is a recurring theme, Sonny Soweez has a personal story to share through this project. This is why, in Tribulationz, she is simply reminding you that, because God has seen her through, He will see you through. In First Impression, Sonny Soweez is asking you to look beyond the smile and see her (or the people around you) beyond the first impressions because they are often wrong. Well, even if they are right, God still has a plan for you – that is what Levixone re-echoes in his verse before the two blend really amazingly on the outro. Sonny carried the melody while Levixone did the ad libs. Did we already mention it was produced by D King? Well, now you know.

First Impression Lyrics
There’s so much you’re guessing you don’t know about me,
And all these broken pieces mam-elimunete the story,
Step closer beyond what the eyes offer,
Then maybe iwanyuni- jo-ngo for me,
For who I really am.
Erono awomomo kon (ad lib) *4
You say you love me, you say you know me,
But all these piles of lies are what you base on to assume
The picture you paint, the rumours you spread.
Seeking where I went wrong, my flaws are what you focus on.
Go slow for a second, can’t we be black and white, plain and simple, No judgements at all *2)
Bwondaba kiki kyolaba, w’ompima kiki kyofuna,
Oyo ali munze w’amanyi okuzing’ ebyo byolaba
Tondaba kuvuga kagali, Lasuban ayina plan, Yesu alina plan
Plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future, hope and a future
Repeat Chorus to the end.
