On the 30th of April after the Baroness Prudence Live Again concert at Silver Springs, all roads will lead to The Height at Centenary Park for an event hosted by King Wesley. It will start at 5:00pm. We caught up with him and he told us that the venue is a neutral place and is in the city centre. We agree. You have no excuses whatsoever. “I looked for a place where many people can be able to come through. Considering that this is a Gospel entertainment party, I want place that is comfortable even for secular people to join in.” Before we go any further, have you invited your friends, neighbour, in-laws, and basically everyone?
For your information, that is just the tip of the iceberg. Popular Kenyan Gospel artiste and other international acts have been confirmed for what King Wesley is more than a “Wake – Up Call” listener’s party. “It is more than that. It is the King Of Radio production. And, of course given the fact that I am not just a presenter….I am an event’s host, organiser, a music promoter….. It is more than that. It is a Christian celebration.”
King Wesley described the event as a show, party or concert – a mixture of the three. In an exclusive chat with him, he told us that this is going to be a one-of-a-kind event dubbed Dancy Dancy. This also means you must come with your dancing shoes after all, up to 30 topic gospel artistes have all be promised. We will do the job of arriving early enough to enjoy the party and count down the number of artistes who will hit the stage. Definitely, there is therefore something for everyone. If our opinion is anything to go by, then we would say, it appears that a lot has been put in organising this event.
The theme Beat Connect has also been used a lot especially on Social Media, King Wesley told us that he will be uniting radio presenters, MCs, DJs, Musicians and fans of Christian music at this Dancy Dancy event. His inspiration was to bring something new. “I wanted to organise something that is running on a script unlike some of our usual shows. I will be giving direction to the gospel entertainment industry. Right now, it seems no one is giving direction. Someone needs to step up and give direction to the industry.”
King Wesley has also promised to introduce new artistes to the music scene as well as his Christ Music label. Well, you heard it all from us. 5 DJs including Deejay A War, DJ Peruz, DJ Rayne, and artistes from Burundi and Rwanda are expected to be at the event. The list is endless.
You pay 12,000 shillings and that guarantees you a few drinks and Mchomo.
Come one. Come All.
