[#UGBlogWeek] Conversations – A Poem By Josh O. Agaba (@AObedJ)

Painted with nothing but disappointments

Flavoured with disdain

Scented with resentment

A sunken soul – distraught

With doubt and slowly

Wandering farther away

Hoping never to return

——————————————–

“Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you”

———————————————-

You’ve seen all my pain

I have lost it all

They laugh at me

Talk ill of me

Follow me around

Trying to steal this life from me

You let them get away with it

—————————————————-

“Son, you’ve let the sun set so many times on your anger”

————————————————–

– Silence –

——————————————————-

Let tomorrow worry about itself

Be blinded in the revelation of my love

Be ye perfected in it

For it eliminates all fear

Stand still and know I am God

Vengeance is mine

I’m patient

Slow to anger

“All you who are weary and heavy laden, come. I’ll give you rest.”

————————————————-

I look up to the mountains

Where does my help come from?

I was a numb troubled soul

Dead to the world

But He gave me rest

His goodness and mercy follow me

Even when I walk through the

Valley of the shadow of death

I know He is with me

At the cross my pain I’ll lay

Forever in your presence I’ll live

For you Oh Lord are HOLY!
